GAS Drummers guitarist and singer Dani Llamas's his first solo album came out in 2009. It is called
Speaking thru the Others ((Red Vanette Music/ Rock's my Ass Records) and it is a bundle of nice early 90s indie rock ballads that move you with their mild nostalgia.

Muzzart: You've been in the band GAS Drummers for years, what was the first song you wrote just for you, for your solo album?Dani Llamas: I've been in GAS Drummers and I still am! I don't remember quite well, but there were a bunch of songs I wrote in 2003 and I knew they had no room in GAS Drummers. I think, the first I wrote for my solo album was the verse of
"Speaking thru the others".
Muzzart: How did the recording of Speaking thru the others start? Dani: I had the chance to interfere with Ken Stringfellow. That incident accelerated the event a little bit. I thought about recording my own album but very vaguely. After meeting Ken, I started thinking about real dates.
Muzzart: This album sounds very American rock sometimes even country, what are your main influences?Dani: I guess there's a lot of truth in what you say, some Neil Young here, some Johnny Cash there, some Jayhawks in the air, but also it is a bit sugar coated at times.
Muzzart: I particularly like the song "Nothing but Lights". What inspired you for this song?Dani: I owed a song to my friends, not my lifetime friends, but the ones you share some special nights with. I dressed them up like sailormen and, bang! we have a hit! haha.
Muzzart: There's also a song in French called "Sur le chemin", why?Dani: I simply love French. I have never written a song in Spanish, but French sounds very nice to me, I tried my best.
Muzzart: You've been touring for some time now all over Europe. What's your best memory so far?Dani: And you have to add Mexico and Canada to your list. I always say the same thing: there are countless moments in my mind, but the best are always when you come across someone you know for a long time, and that you consider a friend, nevertheless that person lives thousands of kms away from your housedoor. That's what is worth of touring.
Muzzart Quizz:Muzzart: Who's your favourite member of the Beatles?Dani: I'd say George Harrison, for real.
Muzzart: According to you, what's the best place to listen to music?Dani: In a car.
Muzzart: What is the first record you ever bought?Dani: I think it was
Grave Dancers Union by Soul Asylum. People still think I keep a lot out of Dave Pirner...
Muzzart: Could you advise us a new artist that you like very much?Dani: Yes Indeed, but do not think they are new: Check the Constantines from Toronto, they are great.
