Folk Story

Here's the story: Green Lee, Jon Aubry et Sage Teal (also known as
Present Day Earth) have been playing music together for some time now in Jon's basement where they've just finished writing, recording and producing their first 4-track record on an iMac with GarageBand.
This young Canadian band named its cd
Nyet Michelle after one of the cruellest songs on its list. The song is a supposedly praising portrait of a girl who's going to die.
"Malcontent (Ode to Penelope)" (don't trust the more uplifting beat!) is about the anguish of starting everything from scratch.
"The Station" probably is the only love song in the romantic comedy sense of the word, depicting characters
"with heart[s] filled with toujours". And the last song,
"The Revue" (French title!), tells the story of a desillusioned/delusional man who is in love with someone he's read about in magazines.
Yes, they play folk music and they do it well.
Present Day Earth's music is surprisingly mature for their age and sets the right tone straight away. Their melodies are hypnotizing, their texts are witty, sometimes funny and mostly quite heart-breaking.
I can't wait to know the rest of their stories...
